YARN:

Crystal Palace Maizy, fingering weight, 25grams/93 yards.

NEEDLES:

Addi Turbo Lace 32 inch circular needles (2.5mm).

GAUGE:

8 stitches/inch and 12 rows/inch.

MEASUREMENT:

The foot is approximately 3.75 inches long X 4 inches in circumference, and is somewhat stretchy – this will vary depending on your yarn choice and gauge.

CAST-ON:

Judy’s’ Magic Cast-On, 9 stitches on each needle. Knit the next row as described in Judy’s Magic Cast-On.

INCREASES:

I use a Backward Loop Left and Right increase (see photos at the end of the pattern), designated in the written instructions as M1L and M1R. The Backward Loop Increase is well-described by Melissa Morgan-Oakes in “Toe-Up 2-at-a-Time Socks”, p.159. Or, feel free to use your own favorite increase.

HEEL:

Variation of the Fleegle Heel, Wendy Johnson calls this a Gusset Heel.
