SL1PW wyf = SLIP 1 PURLWISE WITH YARN FRONT
SL1PW wyb= SLIP 1 PURLWISE WITH YARN BACK
Turn work to begin working heel on a WS row of heel stitches.
You will now begin working back and forth across the heel stitches.
The instep stitches will not be used for this part.
Place a marker at the center of the heel stitches, between stitch 35 and stitch 36, dividing the stitches evenly.

There will be 40 stitches on heel needle.
Resume working in round.
Continue working in pattern on instep stitches.
Follow instructions below for sole-side stitches.
Begin working in pattern on sole-side stitches-beginning on line 7.

  5. Hi Mary! Thank you for sharing this pattern, I'm excited for my first socks! I've made it to the heel and I'm a little lost. When you say divide the stitches evenly...is that on two needles? Am I only working on the first half of the stitches? thank you!!!
